Following compensation and treatment of said injuries during a multiple year period, settlement in the amount of $275,000.00 paid reflecting impairment of all affected body parts (to include brain and shoulder) and cost of future medical care. Employee obtained employment through retraining (DWR) and obtained increase from pre-injury wages.

Employer denied claim, which went to trial. Widow prevailed and employer appealed to the Supreme Court of Connecticut. Court affirmed and widow awarded lump sum in excess of $500,000.00, plus $160,000.00 in penalties. In addition, widow is to receive $40,000.00 a year for life, plus cost of living adjustments (COLAs).
